Mission Statement

The First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia, New York began as a Frontier Church in 1799. The congregation of men and women who placed Christ as their cornerstone in their time and this place established for us an historical heritage of caring and action.
This congregation of men, women, and children, as part of Christ’s body, continues as a frontier church entering the 21st century. We enrich life through the fullest use of the diverse talents within our membership, and share material and personal gifts within and beyond this community of believers. We continue to do this under the authority of Scripture and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We are dedicated to furthering the ministry of Jesus Christ: teaching, preaching, and reconciling people, through God’s healing love, to the will of God. We pray for God’s grace, as we seek through individual, corporate, and community life, to spread the Good News that God loves and accepts us and that, in our love and acceptance of others, God’s peace may flow from our church to our environs, the country, and the world.
